Antwerp, Belgium, renowned for its diamond cutters, has been the heart of Grunberger Diamonds’ operations since our inception. The city’s rich diamond heritage combined with Grunberger’s expertise has made us a leading name in loose melee diamonds. Join us in exploring our four-generation legacy.
The First Generation: Samuel Grunberger
In the 1940s, Samuel Grunberger established Grunberger Diamonds in Antwerp. With his son, Marcel, they expanded the business in the 1950s, hiring more than 1,000 employees and attending the World Diamond Expo in Brussels in 1958, where Grunberger Diamonds was recognized as one of the world’s largest diamond manufacturers.
The Second Generation: Marcel Grunberger
Under Marcel’s leadership, Grunberger Diamonds solidified our reputation as a premier producer of loose melee diamonds. The 1960s saw the company receiving national honors in Belgium for our unmatched quality and contribution to the diamond industry. In the 80s and 90s, he expanded production, first moving the cutting and quality control to Thailand and then establishing a larger manufacturing facility in Vietnam.
The Third Generation: David and Simon Grunberger
David and Simon, Marcel’s sons, furthered the company’s legacy in loose melee diamonds starting in the 90s. David, after establishing the New York office in 1997, focused on the American market for loose melee diamonds. Simon, on the other hand, expanded our reach to Hong Kong and Japan, ensuring Grunberger’s loose melee diamonds were globally recognized.
The Fourth Generation: Daniel Grunberger
Daniel, representing the fourth generation, joined the New York office in 2019. His fresh perspective and commitment ensure that Grunberger Diamonds remains at the forefront of the loose melee diamond industry.
