Diamond calibration is the process of precisely cutting and shaping a diamond to exact measurements for optimal symmetry, proportion, and polish. This meticulous process is crucial in enhancing the gem’s ability to reflect and refract light, thereby maximizing its brilliance and fire.
Grunberger Diamonds, with our legacy in precision cutting, stands at the forefront of this art, so that each melee diamond achieves its maximum potential in beauty and brilliance. Let’s delve into the Grunberger Precision Cut® process and explore the important role diamond calibration plays in cutting and selecting our melee diamonds.
Grunberger Precision Cut®: A Benchmark of Excellence
At the heart of Grunberger Diamonds’ expertise is the Grunberger Precision Cut®, a cutting-edge technique developed through years of research. This method focuses on the relationship between cut proportions and light leakage, a common issue in poorly-cut diamonds that results in a lack of sparkle and brilliance. By mastering the cut, we ensure that each gem reflects light beautifully, avoiding leakage that occurs when the cut is too shallow or too deep.
The Critical Role of Cut in Diamond Calibration
The cut is the most crucial of the 4Cs (Carat, Cut, Clarity, and Color) in determining a diamond’s brilliance. It’s not just about the diamond’s shape but its ability to reflect light. Grunberger Diamonds’ commitment to precision cutting is evident in our melee diamonds, which are calibrated within 0.025mm of perfection. This precision guarantees that even the smallest diamonds in our collection display unmatched fire and brilliance.
The Impact of Calibration on Diamond Value
The value of a diamond is significantly influenced by its calibration. A well-calibrated diamond, with its enhanced brilliance and fire, is not only more visually appealing but also holds greater market value. Precision in cutting directly affects the diamond’s ability to interact with light, which is a key determinant in its valuation. Grunberger Diamonds’ meticulous calibration process maximizes each diamond’s potential value through superior cut quality.
